The White Morning Snack

What you're about to read may initially seem to be contrary to everything you've been taught, but for once, a bit of white is all right. If you're an early morning trainer that is. 

If you're the type of man who jumps out of bed and hits the gym early on, it's often a case of up and out within 10 minutes to maximise training time. In these circumstances we're advocating grabbing something white - a slice of toast, crumpet, croissant - because it's quick, light and will give you the boost you need. 

Generally, the problem with white bread (and anything related) is that it's high GI - it gives a boost, but then leaves you wanting to snack. But if you're getting up and heading straight to the gym, you need a quick pick me up and few things are as quick as a slice of toast or a croissant. If you've got 5 minutes, make the topping scrambled eggs. 

Quick Breakfast Options

  • 2x Slices of white toast with a topping of your choice, preferably eggs.
  • Croissant (maybe even with a little chocolate it you train it off!)
  • 2x Crumpets with a topping of your choice

Remember this is just to give you a boost to hit the gym with to help you push yourself that little bit harder, theres nothing worse than a low intensity training session because you're light on fuel.
