Healthy Snack: Berries

The more intense the colour the better when it comes to berries. The higher the levels of phytochemicals (chemical compounds found naturally in plants that are often responsible for their colour - to you and me) the more beneficial the berry! 

Blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries

Berries such as blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are extremely high in vitamins A, C and E which are all antioxidants. These help to relieve the body of oxidative stresses that can be formed during strenuous exercise, making berries very beneficial to athletes.

Add these to a yoghurt or cereal in the morning or simply snack on them throughout the day.
